Making a difference

Children playing amongst bluebells WTPL/Nick Spurling

Your gift will help us care for our wonderful woods and trees, wherever the need is greatest. By dedicating woodland you are helping us to ensure that our precious native woodland, and the wildlife that relies upon it, will survive to be enjoyed by future generations.

For over 30 years the Woodland Trust has been saving and protecting the UK's threatened woodland heritage. We care for more than 1,000 woods, and many more desperately need protection. With climate change and development threats, protecting the future of our precious woodland is more urgent than ever. Today woodland only covers 12 percent of the UK, compared to a European average of 46 per cent. Ancient woodland is our richest wildlife habitat - one mature oak can support over 1,000 different species. Sadly, in the last 70 years nearly half of what little remained of our ancient woodland has been lost. Can your children and grandchildren still enjoy the woods you played in as a child?
