Martin Beard

Martin Beard made the ultimate sacrifice - losing his life while fighting for his country in Iraq. Martin’s financée, Nicola Parkin, and www.lastingtribute.co.uk, are raising funds to dedicate an acre of woodland to his memory. We want to raise £2,500 to dedicate an acre of woodland with a commemorative wooden post at The Birches wood in Ambergate, a few miles from where Martin lived. Martin, a loyal member of the RAF, was just 20 years old when he was killed on August 7, 2007. Nicola, of Ripley, said: “Martin and I were due to be married and I am still struggling to come to terms with his death. He was a hero. The idea of dedicating an area of woodland to his memory is wonderful. It means there would be a living, lasting tribute to him. It would also be a place where his family and friends could visit and spend some quiet time remembering how special he was to so many people.” Please give generously to Martin’s fund.
